Chicago DJ Don Crescendo, a beloved fixture within the birthplace of home music and town’s queer nightlife scene, has tragically died on the age of 28.

Chicago police responded to a name concerning a stabbing that occurred on the 3000 block of North Elston Avenue, Block Membership Chicago reported. Crescendo and his neighbor, James Traven, have been discovered stabbed a number of occasions on the second ground of their condominium constructing. Their deaths have been each dominated homicides.

Crescendo, whose actual title was Donovan Taylor, was a cherished determine inside Chicago’s queer nightlife scene and identified to frequent native nightlife hangouts like The Whistler and Smartbar. Taylor’s funeral service will happen close to his household house in South Carolina. In the meantime, investigative efforts into the tragedy stay ongoing.
