The newest taster for Darius Rucker’s impending new album Carolyn’s Boy is now obtainable. “Southern Consolation” is a homage to the American south, written by Chris LaCorte, whose credit embrace “Ain’t That Some,” “Blue Tacoma”), Matt Rogers (“‘Til You Can’t,” “Freedom Was a Freeway”) and Josh Osborne (“By no means Needed to Be That Lady,” “Physique Like a Again Street.”)

The track captures the temper and the life-style of the southern states, with lyrics reminiscent of “That light breeze makes me assume I’m three sheets to the wind/When the fireflies gentle me up proper makes the entire world spin/If sunsets had been like whiskey, man, I’d be seeing double/Ain’t nothing on this bottle will get me drunk as southern consolation.”

Carolyn’s Boy, out on October 6 and named after Rucker’s mom, whom he calls “the best lady I’ve ever identified,” the album has already been previewed with the present single “Fires Don’t Begin Themselves,” the current “Have A Good Time,” and the No.1 smash “Beers And Sunshine.”

Rucker is nearly on the finish of the US leg of his Beginning Fires tour, with a date to return on October 14 at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater. He has simply confirmed a tour of the UK and Eire for subsequent April and Could, for which all particulars are at dariusrucker.com. His European tour begins on April 19 in Cologne, Germany, at Cologne Reside Music.
